Punteggio 93/100 · Da bere 2029-2039, Jeb Dunnuck, Nov 2025

Deep ruby-hued and semi-opaque, the 2023 Châteauneuf Du Pape offers spiced red and black fruits, leather, and peppery herbs in its aromatics. Based on 50% Grenache, 29% Mourvèdre, and 21% Syrah from galets roulés and sandy soils, it was partially destemmed and aged 18 months in a mix of foudre, barrels, and concrete. Medium-bodied, it has a beautifully concentrated, elegant mouthfeel, fine tannins, and a great finish. This balanced wine has the depth and structure to improve over the coming 4-5 years and drink brilliantly over the following decade. Drink 2029-2039.

Fresher and livelier in comparison to the 2022, the 2023 Châteauneuf-du-Pape from Château la Nerthe reveals aromas of peonies, rose, flowers and dark cherries. Medium- to full-bodied, enveloping and elegant, it’s elegantly juicy with delicate tannins, concluding with a fresh, ethereal finish. This is a blend of 50% Grenache Noir, 29% Mourvèdre and 21% Syrah.

80% Roussanne and Grenache Blanc, 20% Clairette and Bourboulenc. Rich oak scent matched by ripe apricot fruit and full body. Weighty, yet given lift but floral fragrance. Sweetly spiced oak finish. Big and proud. (RH)

Punteggio 16.5/20 · Da bere 2028-2040, Alistair Cooper MW, jancisrobinson.com, Oct 2024

44% Roussanne, 41% Grenache Blanc, 11% Clairette and 4% Bourboulenc. Aged for 6 months, 50% in demi-muids, 20% in new barriques, 20% in old barriques and 10% in stainless-steel tanks. Certified organic. Tasted blind. Marzipan and almond nose. Real opulence and weight on the palate, yet underneath there is a zip and liveliness that is then supported by the toasty-oak char on the finish. All balanced – a complete, rounded wine. (AC)
