No entry Barolo here, just fireworks. Just mid ruby with broad orange-tinged rim. Fragrant almost perfumed cherry and strawberry nose with hints of fruit cake and oak. Lots of concentrated fruit yet not really that mouth filling. Power and elegance. Succulent fruit finish just showing a little of that dried fruit. Big tannins but the fruit goes on and on. (WS)

Another exotic, beguiling beauty, the 2011 Barolo Rocche dell'Annunziata captivates all the senses with its stunning bouquet, silky fruit and racy, voluptuous personality, all signatures of this great La Morra site. As always, the Rocche is a feminine, gracious wine that showcases the more finessed site of Nebbiolo. The Rocche also drinks well pretty much upon release, which I expect will be the case here as well.
The Rocche dell'Annunziata is the most delicate of these 2011 Barolos from Roberto and Davide Voerzio. Supple, silky and impeccably perfumed, the 2011 captures the pure sexiness of Rocche dell'Annunziata in spades. It will be interesting to see if the 2011 puts on weight in bottle. Today it is distinctly lithe and medium in body.
