Note di degustazione
Ripe black fruits, roasted herbs, leather, and truffly earth all emerge from the 2020 Clos Saint Julien, a full-bodied, powerful, concentrated Saint-Emilion with lots of tannins, terrific mid-palate density, and a great finish. It needs 4-5 years of bottle but is going to have 25 years of overall longevity. I was able to taste this beauty on multiple occasions, rating it as high as 96, so I'm being conservative on the rating.

The 2020 Clos Saint-Julien has a backward bouquet that needs a little more vigor. The palate is tannic and structured, a light bitter edge lending tension with a structured, almost Left Bank, peppery finish. Fine.
The 2020 Clos Saint-Julien is a gorgeous, sumptuous beauty. Crème de cassis, blueberry fruit, lavender, licorice and spice infuse the 2020 with tons of nuance to match its flamboyant personality. Clos Saint-Julien is a heady, voluptuous Saint-Émilion that truly delivers the goods. Superb.
The 2020 Clos Saint-Julien is magnificent in the way it balances richness, energy and structure. Inky blue/purplish fruit, spice, lavender, licorice and chocolate all meld together in a Saint-Émilion endowed with dazzling purity and class. The 2020 is so wonderfully alive. Don't miss it.
