Note di degustazione
The 2014 Haut Bellevue was lacking the fruit intensity of its peers, a little staid by comparison at the moment. The palate is medium-bodied with firm tannin and attractive red berry fruit laced with leather and chocolate. It is smooth in texture, quite harmonious on the finish, although I suspect it will be better consumed in its youth. Tasted September 2016.

55% Merlot, 35% Cabernet Sauvignon, 10% Petit Verdot. 10 months in barrel. Deep crimson. Fragrant with black fruit and a little toasty oak spice. Lovely balance between fruit and structure. Not big or powerful but elegant and finely textured, the tannins in tune with the moderate fruit depth. Fresh and deliciously modest. (JH)
