Note di degustazione
The 2018 Petit Bocq has quite an intense bouquet of blackberry and bilberry fruit, touches of iodine and peppermint developing with aeration; this is more backward than some its peers. The palate is medium-bodied with chewy tannins and plenty of tarry black fruit, backward and surly. This will need 3–4 years in bottle but it just lacks a little finesse and feels rather monotone on the finish.

The 2018 Petit Bocq is packed with blackberry, graphite, lavender and scorched earth. This is a decidedly potent, virile expression of Saint-Estèphe, with good depth, but also slightly burly tannins. There's a lot of substance here, and certainly plenty of character.
Cru bourgeois supérieur. 50% Merlot, 48% Cabernet Sauvignon, 2% Petit Verdot. Deep crimson hue. Ripe but reserved with a dark-fruit nuance. Pure fruited. Lovely balance and texture, the tannins finely honed. Clean, persistent finish. Harmonious despite the alcohol. Has to be GV . Bravo! (JL)
