2012 Beyond the Clouds

Elena Walch's flagship white, Beyond the Clouds, is quite beautiful in 2012. Lime, lychee, spices, mint and peach notes all meld together in a voluptuous, expansive white. Beyond the Clouds is one of the richer Alto Adige whites readers will come across. Ideally, the wine is best given some time in a decanter to open up. The style is very 1980s, which is to say Beyond the Clouds is one of the many wines spawned by Silvio Jermann's Vintage Tunina. In 2012, all the elements are in the right place.
