Punteggio 87/100 · Da bere 2020-2025, Antonio Galloni, Vinous, Mar 2020

The 2017 St. Georges has developed into a bold, pleasantly rustic wine with fine balance in its peer group. Black cherry, plum, sweet spice and oak are front and center. In the glass, the 2017 offers good depth and plenty of character.

Medium to deep garnet-purple in color, the 2017 Saint-Georges sings of baked black cherries, plum preserves and black raspberries with hints of cinnamon stick and cloves. Medium-bodied, plush and juicy, it has a good amount of fruit on offer and lovely purity to the finish.

Spring flowers, black raspberries, and cedary spice notes all emerge from the 2017 Chateau Saint Georges, a lively, medium-bodied, balanced effort. With nicely integrated acidity and plenty of length on the finish, it's already hard to resist, yet should evolve for at least 7-8 years.

The 2017 Château Saint Georges Saint-Émilion has a floral bouquet with rose petal scents infusing the red berry fruit. The palate is medium-bodied with light tannin, chewy in the mouth, maybe a little over-extracted but it might pull together with a prudent élevage . Let’s see.
