A dry white made by this terrific Sauternes-based estate, the 2016 Le Blanc Sec De Suduiraut sports a light gold color as well as a vibrant bouquet of crushed lime, tart pineapple, and beautiful minerality. It’s fresh, medium-bodied, impeccably balanced, and certainly competes with the top Bordeaux Blancs out there.

The 2016 Le Blanc Sec de Suduiraut is brisk, finely cut, and most important of all, flat out delicious. Lemon confit, citrus peel and a touch of mint shape this super-expressive, inviting dry white from Suduiraut.
The 2016 Le Blanc Sec de Suduiraut opens with notes of lemongrass, fresh hay and pear drops with touches of toast and honeysuckle. The medium-bodied palate is zippy with a lovely savoriness in the mouth, finishing on a yeasty note.
Their aim is to reduce the amount of their second wine Sauternes. Aiming for a retail price of €10-12 and it sells much better than second sweet wines. They want to make 100,000 bottles eventually. 2,000 cases made in 2016. 51% Sémillon, 49% Sauvignon Blanc. 10% new oak. Very exciting and layered and fun and rich. Rich grapefruit juice, interesting.
