The Liber Pater 2014, which comes from the lieu-dit of Landiras, is a blend of 97% Cabernet Sauvignon with a pinch of other esoteric varieties matured in 100% new French oak. It has a high-toned medicinal nose, hints of camphor coming through with aeration. The palate is sweet and chewy on the entry with black plum, sea salt, and melted tar notes. There is a lot of weight on the mid-palate, but it needs just a touch more flesh to come through on the finish.
