Punteggio 92/100 · Da bere 2025-2045, William Kelley, Wine Advocate, Feb 2020

Narrowly surpassing the Ouzeloy when tasted from bottle, Roty's 2017 Marsannay Clos de Jeu derives from old-vine Pinot Fin, something Roty says is rare in Marsannay, adding that the terroir's subsoils are similar to those found in parts of Gevrey-Chambertin. Offering up aromas of cassis, cherries, grilled meats and black truffles, it's medium to full-bodied, supple and velvety, with lovely depth and dimension at the core, concluding with a long and sapid finish.

Punteggio 91/100 · Da bere 2022-2032, Neal Martin, Jan 2020

The 2017 Marsannay Clos de Jeu has a tertiary nose with touches of autumn leaves filtering though the red berry fruit. The medium-bodied palate offers supple tannins, fine acidity, a little spice and an elegant, harmonious finish. Excellent.

Punteggio 89-91/100 · Da bere 2022-2033, Neal Martin, Jan 2019

The 2017 Marsannay Clos de Jeu conveys a sense of completeness and harmony on the nose that is beguiling, a mixture of red and black fruit, less opulent than the Boivin this year but perhaps more defined. The palate is sweet and candied on the entry, a little medicinal in style with a touch of Benedictine infusing the black and blueberry fruit towards the quite sumptuous but fresh finish. It is as if it has stored all its opulence towards the finish of this wine.
