The 2021 Clos-de-la-Roche Cuvée MCMLV Grand Cru, named after the date of plantation in the lieu-dit of Mont Luisants, suffered more millerandage than the regular cuvée and therefore shows more concentration and energy. The palate is medium-bodied with fine grain tannins, cohesive, fine depth and quite structured towards the saline finish, white pepper and clove on the aftertaste. This deserves a decade in the cellar. Two barrels produced.

There are only two barrels of the 2021 Clos de la Roche Grand Cru Cuvée MCMLV, but yields weren't so bad here, as the foot of the Monts Luisants wasn't so badly frosted. Unwinding in the glass with aromas of dark minty berries, plums, spices, raw cocoa and smoke, it's full-bodied, ample and seamless, with a deep core of fruit, supple tannins and a floral finish.
