2023 Nuits St Georges La Petite Charmotte

The 2023 Nuits-St-Georges La Petite Charmotte has a pretty bouquet with dark berry fruit flecked with blueberry and pressed iris flower. It is open and transparent, as one would expect given that it was raised in ceramic vessels rather than orthodox oak pièces . The palate is medium-bodied with black plum and hints of bergamot, quite intense though not deep and only gentle in terms of grip. The finish is quite linear and "strict." This is very fine for a Village Cru. How it will age remains to be seen.
