The 2023 Saint-Véran Les Buis comes from 45-year-old vines with ten months on fine lees. This has a potent bouquet with pineapple and elderflower scents that drag it away from Mâconnais typicité, though it's still enjoyable. The palate is ripe and a little exotic in style though it retains freshness and delivers a fine peachy finish. Early drinking.

The 2023 Saint-Véran Les Buis, due to be bottled in September, has a pretty bouquet with freshly squeezed lime, pear and crushed stone. The palate is very primal with pear and grapefruit notes, ample depth with a twist of sour lemon on the finish. Good potential.
