Note di degustazione
Note: from the tiny .74 ha vineyard of Champs Pennebaut that is blended with fruit from Les Champs de Charmes; 70% whole cluster. Here the nose is more floral still with its distinctly cool, airy and pretty aromas of violet, plum and ripe dark cherry. The rich and beautifully textured flavors exude a subtle minerality that adds to the appeal of the lingering and youthfully austere finale. A lovely Fixin villages.

Once again, Mortet opted to use a significant percentage of whole bunches in his 2023 Fixin Vieilles Vignes, and the resulting wine is perfumed and immediate, delivering notes of orange zest, cassis and plums, followed by a medium-bodied, supple and suave palate, concluding with a floral finish. It will drink well young.
A blend of two parcels in Brochon, the 2023 Fixin Vieilles Vignes was vinified with 70% whole bunch. It has an open, transparent nose with red berry fruit infused with chalky aromas. The palate is medium-bodied and again defined by that stony/chalky element. Strict and in some ways uncompromising, this will appeal to those seeking a more sapid Fixin.
