2023 Clos Vougeot

The 2023 Clos de Vougeot Grand Cru comprises 22 barrels this year. Blended with 80% whole bunch, this takes time to unfold on the nose. Dark berry fruit, tea leaves and light bergamot scents are all delivered with fine delineation, albeit without the power of the Grands Echézeaux. The palate is medium-bodied with a silky opening and fine acidity. Very elegant and almost understated in style, this gently fans out toward the finish without making too much of a fuss.
