Note di degustazione
Here too the nose is quite ripe with notes of menthol, bitter chocolate, warmth earth and kirsch. The middle weight flavors are not quite as dense as those of the Ruchottes but they're both finer and sleeker with excellent length on the youthfully austere, long and balanced finale. This is on the riper side but it remains fresh and vibrant.

The 2023 Clos Vougeot Grand Cru is more reticent, unwinding in the glass with aromas of dark berries, pencil shavings, sweet spices and toasted vanilla pod. Full-bodied, ample and layered, it's rich and textural, with a chassis of ripe tannin and structuring new oak.
The 2023 Clos de Vougeot Grand Cru, matured in 80% new oak, almost seems to have some stem addition on the nose when in fact there is none. Lovely dark berry fruit meet hints of black pepper and forest floor, fresh and vibrant as light pine scents emerge. The palate is medium-bodied with filigree tannins. There is unerring symmetry and a perfect line of acidity. Not weighty or powerful but so harmonious on the finish, this will drink sooner than the 2022. One of the finest wines of 2023.
