2023 Chambolle Musigny 1er Cru

The 2023 Chambolle-Musigny 1er Cru, racked just the day before my visit, is sourced primarily from Aux Chatelots, augmented by fruit from Les Fuesselottes. The nose reveals well-defined, pretty aromas of black cherry, raspberry coulis and pressed violets that gain momentum as they unfold, seamlessly integrated with the oak. The palate is medium-bodied with fine structure, not as sophisticated as the Aux Boudots, but it delivers satisfying concentration on the finish. Give it three or four years in bottle.
