Pale crimson. So sweet and fresh. Rose petals! Sort of Tertre Rôteboeuf through a sieve … Not sure it's typical Vosne, but there is lots of pleasure. Distinctive! (JR)

The 2023 Vosne-Romanée Village is quite understated on the nose. Forest floor scents mix with incense as red berry fruit tones gently unfurl in the glass, though it doesn't make too much of a fuss. The palate is medium-bodied with light tannins, pretty red fruit mixed with blood orange on the entry and moderate weight. It is finely balanced with a dash of white pepper on the finish. Give this a couple of years in bottle and you'll have a lovely Vosne Village on your hands.
More of a garnet to crimson colour. The fruit is not immediately so flamboyant. A strawberry or two perhaps. The village Vosne is on the softer side but none the less very agreeable and the fruit builds to the back. Now more alpine strawberry, this is growing in the glass. Drink from 2028-2034. Tasted Nov 2024.
From a total vineyard area of 2.5 ha, 20% from Aux Ravioles on limestone marl, ‘terres blanches’. Cask sample. Pale ruby. Lots of undergrowth and earthy red-cherry fruit. Medium-bodied, elegant and poised, with light, powdery tannins. Quite refined, as a Vosne-Romanée should be. (MH)
