The 2014 Petit Faurie Soutard has a more classically style bouquet with earthy red berry fruit, cedar and even a touch of graphite emerging with time. The palate is medium-bodied with svelte tannin, well-judged acidity and a smooth, harmonious, minty finish that lingers long in the mouth. This is a stylish Saint Emilion that should age well over the next decade.
The 2014 Petit Faurie de Soutard is an attractive, midweight Saint-Émilion built for near-term drinking. Crushed flowers, sweet red berry fruit and a lifted, aromatic texture all show the more delicate, feminine side of Saint-Émilion. Ideally, I would have liked to see a little more depth and concentration.
The 2014 Petit Faurie de Soutard is a pretty, open-knit wine that should offer its best drinking over the near and medium-term. Dark red berry, plum, spice and new oak flesh out in the glass.
