Note di degustazione
The 2019 Château Yon-Figeac has a solid bouquet ripe black raspberry, darker cherries, leather, truffle, and graphite to go with a medium-bodied, solidly built, balanced style on the palate. It's not the most elegant wine out there, yet it brings good mid-palate density, ripe tannins, and outstanding length. It's going to gain some finesse with 3-5 years of bottle age and will keep for 10-15 years.

The 2019 Yon Figeac delivers aromas of rich, figgy berry fruit mingled with notions of undergrowth and new oak. Medium to full-bodied, broad and fleshy, with powdery tannins and soft acids, it's cleanly made but somewhat overripe in profile.
The 2019 Yon-Figeac has improved since I tasted it from barrel. The nose has cohered and gained purity, offering blackberry and raspberry mixed with attractive rose petal scents. The palate is medium-bodied with grippy tannins, quiet compact and lacking a little flair. The finish makes me wonder: is there more coming? I still think this could have been better.
