I liked the nose on the 2020 Château Yon-Figeac, a classic effort revealing more earthy red and blue fruits as well as notes of iron, leather, truffle, and spice. These all carry over to the palate, where the wine is medium to full-bodied, with a plush, rounded mouthfeel, ripe yet building tannins, and outstanding length. This classic, impeccably made Saint-Emilion will keep for 15-20 years. Give it a few years.

Punteggio 89/100 · Da bere 2026-2042, Neal Martin, Feb 2023

The 2020 Yon-Figeac has a lifted, slightly floral bouquet that complement that brambly red fruit mixed with cedar and tobacco. The palate is medium-bodied with a lactic entry, fleshy and candied, graphite notes emerging towards its cohesive finish. Fine.

Punteggio 87/100 · Da bere 2023-2027, Antonio Galloni, Vinous, Feb 2023

The 2020 Yon-Figeac offers only modest depth and complexity. This is an especially light bodied style, especially for the year. The aromatics are promising, but then there is very little follow through on the mid-palate and finish. I would prefer to drink the 2020 over the next handful of years, before the fruit totally fades.
