2023 Morey St Denis En la Rue de Vergy

This comes from half a hectare of old vines (45 years in age) and surrounded by Morey-Saint-Denis’s most illustrious Grands Crus (Clos des Lambrays, Clos de Tart and Bonnes-Mares), on the border with Chambolle-Musigny. The 2023 En la Rue de Vergy has a lovely floral nose with ripe red cherries, concentrated and pure at the same time. On the palate, the ripe fruits are penetrating, the tannins quite subtle yet powerful, with a salinity appearing on the finish. This is beautifully balanced, and should be approachable quite young. Very gourmand, it’s a wine that makes you hungry – gourmet in a way!
