Note di degustazione
The 2023 Corton-Charlemagne comes from one producer, on the Pernand-Vergelesses side of the hill, from the climat “En Charlemagne”. This is a great effort, with incredible tension. It is crisp and mineral, with sublime white fruit aromas – apple and white plum, rich yet without being overly ripe. The palate is clean and precise with nice acidity that underlines the vibrant fruit. The finish is powerful and long, lingering in the mouth. Over the last five years or so, Corton-Charlemagne has finally starting to rival the other white Grands Crus – and this example displays that perfectly. A top effort from Nicolas Potel. Three barrels were produced, aged in 100% new oak.

25% new oak. Cask sample. Big and bold with freshness and a correct interpretation but not as much of a hit as the red Corton. Long but not quite complex enough.
