Note di degustazione
From a site not far from Dr. Crane yet with slightly shallower, rockier soils, the 2023 Cabernet Sauvignon Beckstoffer Las Piedras Vineyard spent 20 months in 76% new barrels. Currants, crème de cassis, new saddle leather, and freshly sharpened pencil notes are just some of the nuances here, and it's full-bodied, with a layered, mineral-laced mouthfeel, satin-like tannins, and a gorgeous finish. If the Dr. Crane is Pessac-like, this is certainly more Médoc-like in its graphite and mineral driven style. Give bottles 4-6 years if you can, as it's another 40- to 50-year wine. Drink 2029-2075.

The 2023 Cabernet Sauvignon Beckstoffer Las Piedras Vineyard is a potent, bombastic wine. Inky dark red fruit, lavender, rose petal and gravel add to the wine's somber, virile intensity. The cold, late-ripening season amplified the wine's naturally searing structure and overall intensity. Complex and dynamic, the Piedras has a ton to offer.
