2014 Charmes Chambertin

(real Charmes; from a parcel against the Route des Grands Crus, just below Chambertin): Medium-dark red. Enticing scents of redcurrant, flowers, coffee and spicy oak. Intense and nicely filled in, displaying noteworthy energy to the flavors of dark berries, licorice and herbs. Conveys an impression of slow ripening under cool conditions. Finishes with fine-grained tannins and lovely lingering perfume. A distinctly delicate, aromatic style of Charmes-Chambertin, made entirely from destemmed fruit.
