2022 Rully Rouge Les Chaponnieres

Coming from a single parcel planted in 1985, the 2022 Rully 1Er Cru Les Chaponnières is more closed and reticent, offering ripe black cherry fruit as well as subtle baking spices, savory flower, rose petal, and loamy earth nuances. It's more linear, focused, and inward compared to the more opulent and showy Preaux, but I love its overall balance and elegance. It's going to benefit from a year or two of bottle age and shine over the following decade.
