Note di degustazione
Offering up aromas of cassis and licorice framed by a rich patina of creamy new oak, the 2018 Loudenne is medium to full-bodied, rich and supple, with lively acids, powdery tannins and a charming, dramatic style. More demonstrative than the 2019, it will offer a broad drinking window.

The 2018 Loudenne Le Château has really come together nicely. Élevage has softened some of the contours that were present initially, which really lets the fruit come through. Blueberry, chocolate, leather and tobacco linger. Drink this open-knit, expressive Médoc Cru Bourgeois over the next handful of years.
50% Cabernet Sauvignon, 50% Merlot. Aged in French oak barrels (33% new) for 12 to 16 months. Notably deep crimson. Discreet but rather convincing savoury nose. Rich and dense fruit with good freshness. Real pace and energy as well as the concentrated fruit. Fine tannins in good balance with the ripe fruit. Well done! Much more successful than the white 2018. (JR)
