Note di degustazione
From vines planted in 2009 and based on 64% Semillon and 36% Sauvignon, the 2021 Château Tronquoy Blanc is a vivid, medium-bodied, elegant white that offers citrus and stone fruits, some minty herb and mineral nuances, integrated acidity, and a clean, classy finish. I love its overall balance, and this food-friendly, layered, complex white will evolve gracefully over the coming decade.

The 2021 Tronquoy Blanc contains 40% Sauvignon Gris planted on clay soils by the late Jean-Bernard Delmas during his tenure. It underwent eight months of aging in barrel à la Bourgogne, with a selection made in the winery. It has a light bouquet with scents of gooseberry, yellow plum and jasmine, the Sauvignon Gris quite expressive. The palate is well-balanced with a rounded texture on the entry and notes of orange pastille, pineapple and lemon thyme. Just a touch of spice comes through on the finish. Very fine.
The 2021 Blanc de Tronquoy is terrific. In fact, its one of the finest dry whites I have tasted from the Northern Médoc. Silky, aromatic and impeccably balanced, the 2021 is an exceptionally focused and polished from start to finish. The Blanc is 64% Sémillon and 36% Sauvignon Gris from vines that Jean-Bernard Delmas planted using clonal material from La Mission Haut-Brion. It is class.
A blend of 64% Sémillon with the rest Sauvignon Gris, the 2021 Tronquoy Blanc saw 10 months' élevage. Offering up attractive aromas of gooseberry, nectarine, mint and vanilla pod, it's medium-bodied, ample and satiny, with a layered core of fruit, lively acids and chalky structuring extract, concluding with a saline finish.

This 30-hectare estate in Saint-Estèphe is only classified as a Cru Bourgeois yet its terroir has long been prized. Now part of the same stable as the illustrious Ch. Montrose, there has been significant investment here, with rising quality and wines that now offer excellent value.
