Note di degustazione
The 2023 Cissac has a classic, tobacco-scented bouquet, a little earthy in style. The palate is medium-bodied with supple tannins, tobacco-tinged red fruit, fine grip and tension with satisfying weight on the finish. A bit rustic but it has personality.

Cru bourgeois supérieur. 56% Cabernet Sauvignon, 34% Merlot, 8% Petit Verdot and 2% Malbec on gravel and clay-limestone. Aged in barrels. Deep crimson. Highly aromatic: black fruit, violets and lead pencils (cedary), even a little minty. A hint of oak spice. Big, chewy, almost savoury, with a touch of oak char. Big and bold but not overdone in any way. Lovely fruit slightly hemmed in by the tannins at the moment. Needs time (JH)
The 2023 Cissac is missing the fruit concentration that I discerned on the 2022 last year, showing moderate delineation but missing some complexity. The palate is medium-bodied with grainy tannins, a little dry and austere, with a rustic, old-school finish. Drink it over the next decade.
