2000 Vosne Romanee Les Gaudichots

The 2000 Vosne-Romanee 1er Cru Gaudichots has the temerity to show better than both the 1998 and 1999 with age! It has a delightful bouquet that is far fresher with black plum, raspberry, iodine and a touch of lemon balm. The palate is medium-bodied with fine tannins, plenty of sweet red fruit infused with mint and spice. There is a slight glossiness toward the finish, but I suspect this will drink even better in two or three year’s time. This should be considered a great success in the context of the vintage.
