The 2022 Bourgogne Aligoté En Coulezain was pressed with a vertical press, a third of the volume seeing a five-day maceration before pressing for some skin contact, and it was bottled in June 2023. Offering up aromas of pear, apple, toasted nuts and bread dough, it's medium to full-bodied, layered and textural, its time on skins contributing breadth and fatness, concluding with a saline finish.

The 2022 Bourgogne Aligoté En Coulezain has a perfumed nose of melted wax, grilled walnut and a light sea spray scent, with a hint of honeysuckle that surfaces with aeration. There’s plenty of personality here, and it articulates the grape variety with style. The palate has a lovely texture—kind of…pillowy. Possessing fine acidity and a tang of stem ginger toward the finish, this is a delightful, delicious Aligoté. Tasted at merchants' 2022 Burgundy tastings in London. (NM)
