2004 Clos de la Roche

Good full dark red. Tangy, complex, but somewhat reduced nose melds redcurrant, smoked meat and earth. Dense and creamy-sweet, with a lovely mineral lift to the red berry flavors. This is wonderfully lush and silky for the vintage but with vibrancy. The rich finish features sappy brown spices and sneaky persistence, with tannins thoroughly buffered by the wine's material.
