Note di degustazione
The 2021 Clos Saint-Denis Grand Cru was showing some reduction on the nose, but there feels like plenty of fruit concentration here, the 25% whole bunches are neatly integrated. The 100% new oak does shroud the terroir expression. The palate is medium-bodied with quite dense tannins. The new oak is a bit overwhelming towards the finish and occludes a sense of place. Jury is out for now...

One of the five original wines from 2005 chez Pascal Marchand. 25% whole clusters, 100% new oak. Cask sample. Mid ruby. Rich and intense with a clear stamp of new oak, notably in a pervasive smokiness in the fruit on the nose and palate. Intense and definite grand cru quality shines through this. (MH)
