(bottled in January of 2016): Medium red. Youthfully stunted aromas of black raspberry and dark cherry. Juicy, savory and on the lean side, but with good acid cut to the flavors of cherry and leather. Finishes with dusty tannins and a lingering saline quality. I'd enjoy this wine on the young side for its primary fruit character.

(from the lieu-dit Largillas; 20% new oak; just 7% vendange entier ): Healthy medium red. Aromas of red fruits and spices lifted by a peppery topnote. Sappy, juicy and perfumed, with red fruit flavors energized by a strong rocky quality. Finishes with substantial broad, dusty tannins. Very pretty wine, from vines ranging in age between 30 and 60 years old and yield of 30 hectoliters per hectare. Should be a very good value in red Burgundy.
The 2014 Auxey-Duresses, which comes from "Les Argillats," had been racked a week ago and will be bottled at the end of the year; it has a crisp, light but lively blackberry and blueberry-scented bouquet. The palate is nicely balanced, easy going with crisp, tart cherry fruit with a short but detailed finish. Six barrels made. Enjoy this over the next 3-5 years.
