2008 Monasterio Reserva

The 2008 Reserva has a little more delineation on the nose compared to the 2009 with dark cherries, crushed violets and a touch of dark chocolate. The palate is medium-bodied with good acidity, fine balance with good minerality toward the finish. There seems to be tension and vivacity in the 2008 Reserva compared to the 2009 Crianza, with lovely, crunchy black fruit laced with dark chocolate and tar lingering in the mouth. Drink 2013-2020+.
