Note di degustazione
This wine has definitely moved into tertiary aroma territory. With a deep, off-gold color and orange highlights, the Livio Felluga 2019 Rosazzo Abbazia di Rosazzo shows aged tones of preserved lemon, candied orange peel, dried guava and sweet almond. Fermentation is in stainless steel, and the wine sees some aging in large oak casks. The blend is Friulano, Sauvignon Blanc, Pinot Bianco, Ribolla Gialla and Malvasia Istriana. There are mild white-wine tannins and a hint of peppermint to close. This wine is supposed to show the aging potential of this blend, but I'm not confident it has many more years ahead.

Friulano, Sauvignon Blanc, Pinot Bianco, Malvasia Istriana and Ribolla Gialla. Pale brilliant straw. The immediate lift of Sauvignon Blanc with plenty of gooseberry notes on the nose. Very fresh and light, but with good length. More aperitif style than food companion. (WS)
Fascinating aromas of ash, wet stones, dried apple, hints of honey and flint. Tar. Full-bodied with great density and energy. Framed and solid. Vine bark with mushrooms. Reserved. Old vines. 80- to 100-years-old. Friulano, pinot bianco and sauvignon blanc with a dash of malvasia and ribolla gialla. Drink now.
The 2019 Abbazia di Rosazzo is more delicate and nuanced, with dusty dried flowers, crushed almonds and sweet smoke forming its bouquet. It's silky yet nearly weightless in feel, hovering across the palate with a saline-tinged blend of white pit fruits and inner florals. This leaves a coating of minerality while finishing with a lovely tension, leaving flinty notes of liquid stone and Bosc pear. The Abbazia di Rosazzo is an understated beauty.
