Note di degustazione
The 2021 Morey-Saint-Denis Les Millandes 1er Cru, like the Clos des Ormes, was a little muted on the nose when tasted from barrel. It opens almost reluctantly with orange zest scents. The palate is medium-bodied with fine grip, more body than the Clos des Ormes with a broad-shouldered but balanced finish. Give this some time in bottle.

A more deeply pitched and earthier nose is comprised by notes of poached plum, pretty floral elements and a background hint of smoked meat character. As one would expect, there is more volume, muscle and power as well as better minerality to the very punchy, moderately rustic and solidly long finish. This built-to-age effort offers very good quality and is also worth considering.
30% whole cluster, 0% new oak. Cask sample. Mid ruby. Red cherries and plump pink raspberries. Quite compact and dense, makes it all quite serious with lovely lift on the finish. (MH)
