2021 Etna Rosso Feudo di Mezzo

Crushed rocks give way to wild strawberries, rosemary and pine as the 2021 Etna Rosso Feudo di Mezzo blossoms in the glass. This is a lifted and finessed effort, with tart wild berries and violet inner florals resonating over a steadily building tannic tension. The 2021 finishes with a massive staining of primary concentration and a web of fine tannins. It then quickly resolves, releasing the palate from its structured clench while gradually allowing licorice nuances to fade. The Feudo di Mezzo will require time to come into balance, yet its fruit may not be up to the task. For now, I remain conservative.
