Having spent 16-18 months in American oak, the well-integrated 2020 Reserva is from a relatively cooler vintage and has good acidity. The mouthfeel and texture are abundant in leathery, savory black fruit, oak, and fine tannins, with underlying freshness beneath the full-bodied power. It takes time to open in the glass and should be age-worthy another 20-25 years.

100% Tempranillo. From vineyards in Pesquera de Duero, facing south at over 800 m elevation and on clay soils with pebbles. Traditionally made and aged for 14 months in American oak barrels. Tasted blind. Very sweet black-fruit character, generous, warm alcohol on the nose, but well combined with a plum and black-fruit-compote character. Sweet spices, vanilla and cinnamon in dialogue with the fruit character. Great concentration on the palate – dense black fruit and generous, enveloping but integrated tannins. A pleasant wine of great quality. In a very good place at the moment – still in a primary state but with notes of dry grass and hay already beginning to show. (FC)
The 2020 Tinto Pesquera Reserva comes from Pesquera del Duero and was aged for 16 months in American oak. Ripe cherry and sour cherry aromas lead on the nose, while the palate shows a classic Ribera profile with vanilla and coconut from the oak. Dry and smooth, with polished tannins, it offers grip and juicy freshness in a clean, traditional style. Well executed and true to type.
