Note di degustazione
The 2021 The Twelve Rows Chardonnay is notably more creamy and rich on the nose than its Sanford equivalents, although it retains excellent precision and focus throughout its confectionary, toasted bouquet. Similarly, the palate is riper and more fleshed out, marrying a round, treatment-driven texture with the naturally taut energy of the vineyard. This is perfectly approachable now and should continue to develop beautifully in the cellar for a decade.

The 2021 Chardonnay Sanford and Benedict Vineyard The Twelve Rows takes all the S&B signatures and dials them up. Lemon confit, marzipan, tangerine oil, spice and a kiss of French oak all come together beautifully. The 2021 emerges from the westernmost section of the old vines, planted in the early 1970s, own-rooted. It's a marvelously complex and nuanced wine in every way.
