Note di degustazione
(bottled before the 2016 harvest; made with 50% whole clusters from vines from Vougeot, Hautes-Côtes de Nuits, Hautes-Côtes de Beaune and declassified Beaune villages ): Palish red. Fruit-driven aromas of red cherry and raspberry lifted by spices. Juicy and light on its feet, showing lovely cut to its flavors of red fruits and red licorice. Gutsy, classy wine for its humble appellation. Finishes with a decent quantity of harmonious ripe tannins. Domaine de la Vougeraie has 25,000 bottles of this wine, which would make a terrific red Burgundy for everyday drinking. Interestingly, Vincent feels that this wine shows the very ripe 2015 vintage character less than virtually all of his other wines.

The 2015 Bourgogne Rouge Terres de Famille contains 20% village cru and includes 50% whole cluster fruit. It has a perfumed cranberry leaf and crushed strawberry nose with traces of limestone. The palate is simple but very well balanced, plenty of crunchy red berry fruit with a potent but well-defined, fresh finish. This is very classy for an entry-level Burgundy. Recommended.
