2022 St Veran En Faux

The 2022 Saint-Véran En Faux comes from pink and grey limestone soils and is always bottled separately, and Frédéric Burrier has always treated it like a Pouilly-Fuissé. This is succinct on the nose, delineated and lightly spiced - hints of lemongrass coming through with time. The palate is nicely balanced with a slightly honeyed tincture. There's impressive weight and maybe a little botrytis on the finish. This will be very seductive, and I appreciate its residual spiciness.
