Punteggio 91/100 · Da bere 2017-2027, Jeb Dunnuck, Aug 2017

The 2014 Pinot Noir is the value priced, entry level wine from winemaker Jeffrey Patterson and it's more than worth your time and effort. Framboise, ripe black cherries, spice and forest floor notes flow to a medium-bodied, rich, beautifully textured Pinot Noir that's loaded with charm. This cuvee spent 12 months in 10% new French oak and there 1,680 cases produced. While considered the second wine of Mount Eden, Domaine Eden is actually its own estate located just to the south of Mount Eden. Made by Jeffrey Patterson, the wines are a mix of declassified Mount Eden fruit as well as estate fruit, and are made similarly to the more expensive Mount Eden releases. They represent terrific values, and if you want to understand Santa Cruz Mountains, and the style of Mount Eden, this is a great place to start.

Punteggio 90/100 · Da bere 2017-2022, Antonio Galloni, Vinous, Aug 2017

Domaine Eden's 2014 Pinot Noir is a pleasant, easygoing mid-weight wine to drink now and over the next few years. Sweet floral notes, spice, hard candy, herb and dried cherry are all nicely lifted in this pretty, delineated Pinot. This is an especially fragrant, aromatic style for the Domaine Eden Pinot.
