2022 Oude Nektar

The 2022 Cabernet Sauvignon Oude Nektar comes from supposedly the highest altitude Cabernet in Stellenbosch, blended with 20% Petit Verdot and 5% Malbec. Matured in 50% new oak for 22 months, this has the most complex bouquet of the three Cabernet releases from Stark-Condé, very precise with blackberry, tar and light graphite scents. The palate is well balanced with a sapid entry and quite firm tannins that lend this cuvée backbone and grip, all counterweighted by an elegant, refined finish. This is definitely worth seeking out, and it represents a great value.
