Punteggio 87-88/100 · Da bere 2001-2016, Robert Parker, Apr 1996

The excellent 1994 Dauzac is one of the finest wines this estate has produced in years. The color is a healthy dense, dark ruby/purple. The wine's nose suggests smoked herbs, toast, black-cherries, olives, and spice. Medium-bodied, with excellent concentration, and moderately high tannin, this is a pure, well-structured, concentrated wine that should unfold with another 5-7 years of cellaring. It will keep for 20 years. Andre Lurton is making significant strides in resurrecting this once moribund estate from the throes of mediocrity. All of the wines in this segment were tasted between March 19 and March 28 in Bordeaux. Most of the important wines from both the 1994 and 1995 vintages were tasted three separate times during my ten-day stay in Bordeaux.
