2022 Santa Barbara Syrah

The 2022 Syrah Santa Maria has a Cornas-like nose of game black and blue fruits, iron, ground pepper, and violets. This carries to a medium to full-bodied Syrah with a focused, elegant mouthfeel, nicely integrated acidity, and a fresh, elegant style that blossoms with time in the glass. It's a beautiful, cool climate-inspired Syrah in the lineup.

The 2022 Syrah Tensley Vineyard is a dark, brooding wine. A blast of dark fruit, leather, graphite, licorice and cloves hits the palate, wrapped together by driving, muscular tannins. This somber, virile Syrah is long on personality and character. Tiny clusters in 2022 yielded a huge, dense wine.

The 2022 Syrah Santa Maria Valley has layered aromas of blackcurrant, roasted coffee, garrigue, bergamot, milk chocolate and iodine. The full-bodied palate is loaded with ripe, fragrant fruit. It has a support of rounded tannins and juicy acidit and a long, layered finish. It's plush and perfumed without going over the top, but it will benefit from a few years in bottle or some time in a decanter.
