2013 Gevrey Chambertin Estournelles St Jacques

(from vines more than 50 years of age): Bright, healthy red. Very pure and vibrant but reticent aromas of raspberry, smoked meat and flowers. More pliant and sweet than the foregoing samples, offering captivating pinot fin inner-mouth perfume. Plenty of flesh here to support the wine's spine. Suave tannins spread out to saturate the palate on the vibrant, weightless back end. Lovely finesse here, and a classic example of the house style.
