Tasted blind at Flint Wines’ 2007/2012 Nuits Saint-Georges tasting in London. The 2012 Nuits Saint-Georges 1er Cru Clos des Argillères from Patrice Rion has a crisp cranberry and blueberry-scented bouquet that is well defined, quite elegant in style. It appears to have soaked up a majority of that new oak. The palate is fresh on the entry, quite fleshy with smooth tannin. It lacks a little depth towards the structured finish, although there is a pleasant spicy edge. Drink now and over 5-8 years. Tasted November 2016.

Tasted blind. Dark cherry red. Briary and medium intensity with some grunt on the nose. Marked acidity and fine fruit. Very much middle aged and medium bodied. Not much sweetness of fruit. (JR)
Darker and more intense than the Chambolle-Musigny Les Cras just tasted. But a good deal drier on the palate – powdery tannins damping down the fruit. A bit flat on the finish. (JH)
