The 2019 Raymond-Lafon has a lovely nose with white peach, beeswax and light saffron scents, seeming to have gained a bit more complexity in recent months. The palate is well balanced with more density and botrytis than the 2020 and gentle grip. There's dine mineralité here, and an energetic finish. This is one of the best recent releases from the estate.

The 2019 Raymond-Lafon has a more resinous, waxy bouquet than its peers, well-defined and gaining intensity with aeration. The palate is very well-balanced with impressive concentration, whilst maintaining more than enough acidic bite. Quite complex on the finish, this is a Sauternes that will reward cellaring. Worth hunting down. Tasted blind at the Southwold annual tasting.
Tasted blind. Very big and beefy. Not very subtle but with lots of sweet barley sugar. Not quite refreshing enough. Just a bit heavy. Hint of lime. (JR)
