Classic darker currants, tobacco, spice box, and spicy oak all emerge from 2020 Château Lamothe-Bergeron, another pure, medium-bodied, elegant wine from this estate. It has soft tannins, moderate density, yet terrific balance and a great finish. Drink it over the coming 8-10 years.
The 2020 Lamothe-Bergeron has a clean, fresh bouquet with more black fruit and pronounced tobacco scents. The palate is medium-bodied with rather firm tannins that give it a classic, traditional persona. It does lack a bit of finesse but this does offer charm.
The 2020 Lamothe-Bergeron is a potent Haut-Médoc. Cabernet Sauvignon drives the blend, and that is exactly what comes through in this potent, driving Haut-Médoc. Gravel, incense, iron, orange peel, mint, blood orange and kirsch fill out the layers. Give the tannins a few years to soften.
